Bellydance by Cheryl A Professional Bellydancer Serving Southern Florida

Cheryl is a stunning performer with a great personality and energy that sets her apart from other belly dancers. She first fell in love with the middle eastern dance form while she was studying ballet in NYC. During her stay in NYC she took up a belly dancing class with Amira Mor at the Broadway Dance Center.

When Cheryl moved to Balitmore she continued her training with Piper of Greece(a second generation bellydancer). Her mother is Rhea of Greece. Rhea's journey in belly dance began with her teacher and mentor, Jamila Salimpour. Rhea became one of the first sword dancers in Jamila's legendary troupe Bal Anat. Thanks to Jamila, Rhea was the first dancer in America to take the balancing of a sword into the context of a cabaret performance.

Since moving to Florida, she has continued her dance with some of the best in the world such as Maria Jammal, Bozenka, Roshana Nofret, and Ansuya.

Classically trained in Egyptian style, her love for the music shows through her dance. She has performed with Sharm el Sheikh (Egyptian Folkloric Troupe, with professional male folkloric dancers from Egypt). Cheryl also was a featured performer at the 2010 Sunday Night Show at the Miami Bellydance Convention.

"Cheryl is a multi-talented performing artist. She has a rare combination of beauty, grace, and a flair for ad lib performing, that make for first class entertainment." - Piper of Greece
